Who can be a Police Unity Tour® Rider?

RIDERS must be a sworn law enforcement officer, active or retired. Immediate family members of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty (survivors) may also participate as a rider. All participants must be at least 18 years of age. 

Who can be a Police Unity Tour® Support Team Member?

SUPPORT TEAM members must be an active or retired law enforcement officer, an immediate family member of an active or retired law enforcement officer, survivor or sponsored by a current rider.  All participants must be at least 18 years of age.  Civilians who are employed or affiliated with law enforcement agencies and related organizations or possess specific training or skills required to safely and effectively assist the organization may also apply. These requirements include, but are not limited to: dispatchers, first aid personnel, doctors, nurses, lawyers, mechanics (automobile & bicycle) and members of organizations such as the Concerns of Police Survivors, Domestic Violence Response Teams.

What are the dates of the ride?

Chapter 9 leaves a yet to be determined location in Pennsylvania (Delaware County area) on May 9th and arrives in Washington DC on May 12th. The Candlelight Vigil is on May 13th and checkout from the DC hotel is May 14th.

How much does it cost to participate?
Members are required to raise a minimum of $1750.00. All members are required to submit a non refundable and non transferable $75.00 registration fee with their application. All donations are tax deductible. New Members must raise a minimum of $500 by December 1, 2012 in order to remain in active status, or risk losing their spot on the roster. Returning members must raise $750 by January 1st 2013. All members must have raised the minimum participation cost of $1750.00 by March 15th, 2013 or risk losing their spot on the roster.
